The Carabinieri of the Operational Section of the Trapani Company, coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office, in execution of the precautionary custody measure in prison issued by the GIP of the Court of Trapani, arrested, for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing narcotic substances, two offenders, mother and son respectively, aged 62 and 35.

Trapani, alleged drug market closed in the Villa Rosina district.

The provision constitutes the outcome of a delicate investigation, also carried out with the aid of technical activities, which made it possible to outline a serious circumstantial framework, fully shared by the judicial authority, against the suspects, a 62-year-old mother and her son 35 years old.

According to the reconstruction of the Carabinieri soldiers, the two would be the protagonists of several documented episodes of drug dealing (crack, hashish and cocaine) in the working-class neighborhood of Villa Rosina, between February and December 2022. Numerous reports have also been received by the Carabinieri by residents of the area who complained about the thriving drug dealing activity in the neighborhood, given the constant coming and going of people at the woman's home.

The suspects, over time, would have implemented a series of precautions, such as an iron grate in front of the house and
cameras to monitor the possible arrival of the police, for the alleged drug dealing activity, to be carried out in total "safety". During the investigations, several non-therapeutic users of narcotic substances were reported to the Prefecture, who allegedly purchased drugs on a daily basis from the suspects, as well as four people were released into custody for attempting to prevent the Carabinieri from identifying the offenders.

Those arrested, having completed the formalities, were transferred to prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. In particular, the mother was taken to the “Pagliarelli” prison in Palermo and her son to the “Pietro Cerulli” in Trapani.
