The protection of the weaker groups by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Potenza continues to be a priority objective in the intense work of prevention and repression of crimes.

This time it is Tito's town that, despite itself, is the unfortunate theater of a episode of violence within the home.
Last weekend the Carabinieri of the local station and those of the Operative and Radiomobile Unit of the Potenza Company, following a request received during the night at 112 by a woman of foreign origins but resident in Tito for years, intervened, putting an end to a sad story of family mistreatment that was taking place within that family unit.
In particular, the victim's partner, a 42-year-old compatriot, most likely due to old disagreements aggravated by the state of alcoholic intoxication, he had attacked his cohabiting partner, punching her in the face and threatening to kill her.

The subsequent investigations carried out immediately by the military personnel made it possible to ascertain that the perpetrator of the attack had already been the protagonist, in the recent past, of similar behaviors generating in the woman a persistent state of anxiety and fear for her own safety interrupted by the prompt intervention of the Benemerita men who averted more serious consequences.
Once the entire incident was reconstructed, the 42-year-old was arrested by the Carabinieri and held in the Potenza prison, at the disposal of the Potenza Judicial Authority.

The GIP Office of the local Court then validated the arrest by ordering the precautionary custody of the man in prison for whom, it should be noted, the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction is issued.
The recommendation of the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Potenza is renewed to citizens to resort, from the first signs of danger or fear, to Single Emergency Number 112 or to the force's garrisons in the area and to do so in the certainty of always being received and listened to by adequately trained soldiers capable of offering concrete help.
