The 55-year-old fugitive Rossignolo Gian Luca has been arrested in Montenegro
On the evening of May 20, 2024, the fugitive Rossignolo Gian Luca was arrested in Podgorica by the Montenegrin police authorities, pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Turin.
The same is burdened by a restrictive measure deriving from multiple convictions for a total sentence of eight years and one month of imprisonment because he was held responsible for the crime of fraudulent bankruptcy of the well-known automotive company "De Tomaso Automobili Spa", a company that went bankrupt in 2012, also committed by obtaining, with the use of false surety bonds, undue financing from the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies and the Tuscany Region for a total sum of over 10 million euros.
Rossignolo was also the perpetrator of the crime of trade in counterfeit works of art against the "Josef & Anni Albers Foundation", an artistic foundation aimed at safeguarding the works of the Albers masters as well as works by the artist Piero Manzoni.
The investigations aimed at the capture were conducted by the Carabinieri Investigation Unit of Milano, which as a result of complex and detailed info-investigative activity, managed to locate the subject in Montenegro.
International police cooperation channels were therefore activated through the SCIP, which proved to be decisive in the arrest of Rossignolo, who attempted to evade his identification by showing counterfeit Italian documents.
He is currently confined in a Montenegrin detention facility at the disposal of the local judicial authority, awaiting procedures aimed at extradition to the national territory.
