Terni, the perpetrators of the pharmacy robbery in Viale della Stazione arrested by the State Police

On the same day, after two hours, they robbed another pharmacy in Ponte San Giovanni: identified and tracked down by the Terni Flying Squad

Terni, a brilliant operation by the State Police, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Terni, has led in recent days to the arrest of two Italians - a 42-year-old originally from Bologna and a 46-year-old from the province of Cosenza, both residents in the Viterbo area - in execution of a precautionary custody order in prison, issued by the Terni GIP at the request of the Terni Public Prosecutor's Office, for two armed robberies, committed last March 29, in Terni and Ponte San Giovanni (PG), against two pharmacies.

The detailed investigation of the Flying Squad, started - with the coordination of the local Prosecutor's Office - immediately after the robbery at the Terni pharmacy in Viale della Stazione, which occurred around midday, immediately took the right direction when, just two hours later, it arrived investigators were given the news of another robbery, committed in Ponte San Giovanni, again against a pharmacy and with the same methods.

The elements collected, including the footage from the cameras of the pharmacy and the surrounding areas and the statements of some witnesses, led to the identification of a man dressed in dark, blue shoes, wearing a mask and hat who entered the pharmacy and with himself a red bag, where he will probably then put the money from the robbery, around 2.000 euros; later, a few meters away, abandoned in the street, the officers found a pair of blue shoes, compatible with those filmed by the cameras.

The man identified in the Ponte San Giovanni videos, however, is wearing shoes, mask and bag of a different color from those of Terni; in the second robbery, committed around 14pm, the loot was around 00 euros.

At that point, the investigations focus on the route from Terni to Ponte San Giovanni: the videos of the rest areas and refreshment stations present on that stretch are examined and, in one of these, near Acquasparta, two men are seen , one of whom has a particularly suspicious attitude. He is wearing a pair of shoes compatible with those of the Ponte San Giovanni robber, as well as having access to a considerable sum of cash. Furthermore, he had asked the owner of the business to exchange coins for an amount of 70 euros - the same amount in coins taken away from the Terni pharmacy.

Again from the images of the Acquasparta rest area, the investigators identify the license plate of a car, registered to a woman, who from subsequent investigations turns out to be the mother of the 46-year-old originally from Cosenza; examining the videos of Viale Stazione in Terni, then, a car compatible with the latter is noticed passing shortly before the robbery right near the pharmacy.

It is possible to trace the identity of the two men, one of whom, the material perpetrator of the robberies - the 42-year-old originally from Bologna - is also recognized by some witnesses present in Terni and Ponte San Giovanni.

As final confirmation, the arrest of the two in flagrante delicto in Grosseto for attempted armed robbery against a pharmacy on 7 April; even in this circumstance, the car used is the same and the author, once again, had changed his clothing.

Since that moment, the 42-year-old also responsible for the robberies in Terni and Ponte San Giovanni (with previous convictions for narcotics, crimes against property and already subjected to Special Surveillance with the obligation to stay in the province of Viterbo), has been in prison in Grosseto , while the other (with a history of crimes against the person and resistance to a public official), was reached at his home in the province of Cosenza, where he was under house arrest, by the men of the Terni Flying Squad who, with with the help of the staff of the Paola Public Security Police Station, they then associated him with the local prison.
