The 50-year-old convicted felon arrested by the Carabinieri of the Sortino station and the Heliported Hunters of Sicily Squadron had reserved a significant portion of his land for the cultivation of Indian hemp.
The soldiers, during a territorial control service, crossed the Iblean municipality and, having arrived in that Presti district, they noticed a man who, in addition to taking care of his vegetable garden, was also watering some marijuana plants.
The Carabinieri found more than 30 plants with an average height of about 80 centimeters and almost a kilo of narcotic substance in the drying phase.
What was found was seized to carry out laboratory tests and establish its level of toxicity.
