Scoglitti, Vittoria: the Carabinieri track down the perpetrator of a 2017 murder. Arrested and sentenced to 15 years in prison.

It continues unabatedactivities to combat crimes against individuals of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Ragusa also in order to guarantee the correct execution of the measures adopted by the Judicial Authority.

In particular, on the afternoon of February 17, the soldiers of the Scoglitti Carabinieri Station gave execution of an Order for Detention, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Ragusa, against a Romanian citizen identified in AI, class 96.

The measure carried out was issued at the conclusion of the criminal proceedings initiated following the murder and concealment of the body of FARHAT Abdessalem, then 47 years old, found on the outskirts of Vittoria in April 2017.

Following this episode, the Carabinieri launched a complex investigation activity which made it possible to attribute responsibility for the fact to the Romanian citizen which was traced to the seaside hamlet of Scoglitti; the military, after having fully identified him, arrested him and took him to their offices to notify him of the Detention Order issued by the Judicial Authority.

Once the formalities were completed, AI was then transferred to the Ragusa prison where he will remain to serve his 15-year prison sentence.
