School canteen control campaign: irregularities detected in the provinces of Latina and Frosinone
With the start of the new school year, the Carabinieri Command for Health Protection, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has started a nationwide inspection campaign of school catering services and catering companies who manage the canteens inside the institutions. The operation, carried out in October, also affected the provinces of Latina and Frosinone, with the control of 28 activities, Of which 16 in the province of Latina e 12 in that of Frosinone.
Province of Latina
The inspections carried out in the Pontine area have led to the detection of 6 irregularities in as many structures. In particular, administrative violations were contested for sanitation deficiencies, to incorrect application of HACCP self-control procedures and for non-conformity in management and structural fields. In total, administrative sanctions amounting to 2.000 €.
In particular, following the checks carried out at two nursery schools in Aprilia, they are emerged serious omissions in the maintenance procedures of the fire protection system equipment. For this reason, the managers of the facilities have been referred to the Judicial Authority.
Province of Frosinone
Even in the Frosinone area, the NAS Carabinieri found 8 violations for Hygienic-sanitary deficiencies, to failure to apply HACCP procedures and for hygienic-structural non-conformities. For these problems, administrative sanctions were imposed for a total of 4.000euro.
A Casino, during the checks, was referred to the local prosecutor's office the administrator of a nursery school for failure to perform periodic maintenance of the fire prevention system equipment.
Particular attention was also paid to the Municipality of Frosinone, where in a nursery school it was found that the owner had not carried out the required rodent monitoring inside the facility, violation for which a fine was issued fine of 2.000 euros.
