Sanremo (Imperia), attacks a Croce Verde operator and a nurse in the emergency room, arrested by the Carabinieri

Last night, The Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Sanremo Company arrested a thirty-one-year-old local man in flagrante delicto for injuries to two health workers at the Emergency Room of the Sanremo Hospital.

The man, already known to the police, was transported by police personnel between 1 and 2 o'clock this morning. Green Cross of Taggia to the Sanremo Emergency Room for a reported fall from the scooter.
Once he reached the emergency room, however, the injured man, who moreover immediately showed an altered attitude and the typical symptoms of alcohol abuse, he began to throw a tantrum in the reception room, attacking and hitting in the face one of the operators of the Croce Verde di Taggia who had helped him and who was trying to calm him down.

The Carabinieri, who arrived on the scene a few minutes later, initially calmed the man down, but during treatment for the injuries he sustained in the alleged fall from the scooter, he also attacked the nurse who was treating him.

At this point the young man, who also had with him almost six grams of marijuana, was put in handcuffs and arrested red-handed for violating art. 583 quater of the Penal Code, an article recently amended specifically to protect healthcare personnel in hospital emergency rooms and which provides for a more serious sanction than the more generic crime of injury, that is, from two to five years of imprisonment and allows for arrest in flagrante delicto, when the injuries are caused to someone who practices a health profession in the exercise of his activity or to anyone who carries out auxiliary activities functional to it.

After the formal procedures, the arrested person was held in the security cells of the Compagnia di Sanremo at the disposal of the Judicial Authority. This morning the arrest was validated and the suspect has been released for the time being, having obtained from his lawyer the terms for the preparation of the defense..
