Salemi, cocaine hidden in a jar of rice in the garage. A 60-year-old man arrested by the police for drug dealing

In particular, on Friday just gone, the Carabinieri arrested a citizen cl. 60, mechanic, with a police record and two young people referred for the crime of possession for the purpose of dealing in narcotic substances.
Having entered the apartments for the house search, the soldiers of the force in fact found, in a garage adjacent to that of the sixty-year-old's home, approximately gr. 140 of narcotic substance of the "cocaine" type, packaging material and in the homes of young cousins, already burdened by specific precedents, approximately 22 grams of narcotic substance of the "marijuana" type and modest quantity of hashish.
The particularly nervous and uncooperative attitude of the suspects, who declared that they did not possess drugs at home, was not very convincing to the Carabinieri who searched every corner of the house and its surroundings. Right in a warehouse adjacent to the arrested man's apartment, the cocaine and the material for weighing and packaging had been hidden inside a jar full of rice.
The man was arrested and subjected to the measure of house arrest as ordered by the competent AG while awaiting a very direct trial which took place this morning where the arrest was validated and the measure of compulsory residence in the municipality of Salemi with stay at home during the night hours.
