Rome, the police enter the house for an eviction and find 250kg of explosives: 2 reported

Rome, ahead of the usual checks that will start systematically during the next Christmas holidays, the agents of the State Police they proceeded to seize over 2,5 tons of fireworks.

Yesterday morning, the police intervened to assist the bailiff in carrying out an eviction but, once inside the apartment, the agents of the State Police of the pyrotechnics stored illicitly and destined for the next Christmas celebrations.

As established, their sale would have generated revenues of over 100 thousand euros.

Furthermore, with the help of the bomb squad of the Rome Police Headquarters, who intervened on site, serious omissions relating to compliance with the security measures envisaged for their custody were ascertained. The material, regularly purchased from a well-known company in the sector, was found in completely prohibitive storage conditions, placed on the ground and on the walls, in the immediate vicinity of electrical instruments, chemical and highly flammable materials.

The structure of the warehouse was found to be absolutely not in line with current legislation and inadequate to contain such a quantity of explosive material, estimated by the bomb squad to be approximately 280 kg, duly seized.

Both the tenant of the structure and the buyer of the pyrotechnic material were reported to the Judicial Authority for having deposited approximately 2 and a half tons of boxes in a location without authorization, a fire prevention system and video surveillance.
