Rome, on the afternoon of Saturday 10 April the "Falchi" of the Flying Squad of the Rome Police Headquarters, together with the policemen of the "Celio" police station, have tracked down and arrested a crime suspect in the Portuense area, the perpetrator of several robberies committed against passers-by in various neighborhoods of the city.
In particular during the week, after careful monitoring of the phenomenon, carried out through the analysis of episodes characterized by the same modus operandi, it was understood that in some areas of the capital robberies had been carried out by the same person, described as a foreigner , armed with a switchblade and on board a dark scooter.
A first episode occurred near the Orange Garden where a girl was approached by a man with a foreign accent, on a scooter, who threatened the victim with a knife and obtained his wallet.
Two days later a subject with similar physical appearance tried to carry out the same criminal action against a policeman off duty in the Portuense area. The officer managed to scare away the criminal and took note of the license plate of the scooter used, immediately reporting the news to the operations center of the Rome Police Headquarters.
The following day, in the Cinecittà area, a third incident occurred against a doctor traveling to Rome for work who was robbed by a man described in a similar way and on board a dark scooter with the same registered license plate. by the policeman the previous day; on this occasion two laptops were robbed.
From the study of the cases that occurred, the "Falchi" of the Flying Squad, having verified that the motor vehicle was of furtive origin, organized a specific service on board dedicated motor vehicles with civilian livery, patrolling with greater interest the areas affected by the three incidents which occurred: in Indeed, on the afternoon of Saturday 10 April, they managed to intercept, again in the Portuense area, the probable robber on board the reported scooter, starting a chase through the streets of the city, which ended with the arrest of a man, SN born in '87, of nationality Bosnian, multiple criminals for specific crimes.
In particular, the 34-year-old foreigner was recognized by the victims, including the same policeman who had been robbed a few days earlier.
Jewelery and electronic equipment not immediately attributable to anyone were found on the criminal and some photographs showing two PCs were found in the mobile phone in his possession, the same ones found to have been removed by the doctor a few days earlier.
One of these was found immediately in a computer shop where a Filipino citizen had just delivered it to be formatted, after purchasing it from the robber. The man was reported for the crime of receiving stolen goods.
The 33-year-old Bosnian, given the numerous precedents, the serious indications of guilt gathered against him, including the possession of a stolen scooter reported during the robberies that occurred in the past few days and the concrete danger of escape given by the absence of a home stable in the city, was subjected to arrest as a suspect in the crime and taken to the Rieti prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
