During the activity, in addition to the targeted services to protect safety on the large transport infrastructures of the urban connection at the Metro Line B stations at the "Basilica San Paolo" stops as well as within the "Roma-Lido" railway station, sampled people in transit were also subjected to checks.
The activity led to the identification of 255 people, 52 of whom had police records; 41 vehicles were checked; 1 local search for drugs; 1 seizure of gr. 4,4 of narcotic substance of the cocaine type; 1 personal search extended to the vehicle carried out pursuant to art. 4 law 152/1975; 1 administrative sanction to a person who did not wear an individual protection mask; 2 fines to the highway code, with oblation on the spot, since they were committed by the driver of a vehicle with a foreign license plate.
Furthermore, three foreign citizens of Georgian nationality were taken to the Immigration Office as they were found to be illegal on the national territory.
During the control phases, when asked about their origin as well as the reasons for their presence in the capital, they reported that they resided in Naples and that they were in Rome with the intention of seeing the Colosseum. Immediately afterwards they changed their story, claiming to be in Naples for "study" reasons and now in Rome looking for work. The reasons given led the operators to carry out a targeted search of the vehicle with a foreign license plate which made it possible to find two cutters, various work tools as well as pepper spray, so much so that it was deduced that their stay in the capital was due to the intent to carry out predatory crimes.
