On the morning of Saturday 5 October, the State Police arrested a foreign citizen, 49 years old, not in compliance with immigration regulations, presumed author of theassault with gunshots to the detriment of another foreigner, which occurred at dawn, in front of a nightclub from Castelbolognese.
The agents, already engaged in extraordinary control services of the places and venues of greatest aggregation in the night hours, They intervened to help the victim, from whom they learned the summary dynamics of the facts, according to which the latter was at the exit of the premises when the attacker arrived, with whom an argument arose for reasons currently being investigated. The second man pulled out a gun and three/four shots were fired in the direction of the opponent who was grazed but managed to disarm the attacker who then fled on foot. The weapon, abandoned on site and seized by the policei, it turned out to be a 9×21 caliber semi-automatic pistol already reported as stolen.
The immediate investigations carried out by the Flying Squad, together with the Faenza Police, the technical surveys carried out by the Scientific Police, theAcquisition of images from surveillance cameras, allowed to identify the alleged perpetrator who was traced to his home located in the Faenza countryside. Accompanied to the police station, he was placed under arrest as a suspect for the crimes of attempted murder, illegal possession of a weapon and receiving stolen goods; he was subsequently taken to the local prison at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Ravenna which took over the direction of the investigations.
