Pescara, yesterday's stabbing in Piazza Sacro Cuore: one of the alleged perpetrators identified and arrested
Pescara, late yesterday afternoon, Flying Squad personnel intervened in Piazza Sacro Cuore, following a report from the operations room, due to the presence of an injured and bleeding person.
A 118 unit also arrived on site and provided first aid to the injured man, resident there, burdened by several precedents for bankruptcy and property crimes, who had deep stab wounds on his neck.
The victim immediately reported that he had been attacked by two strangers who surprised him from behind as he was returning home; the two ordered him to hand over the watch worn on his wrist and, faced with his refusal, one of the two hit him in the neck with a blade.
The victim, despite losing blood, managed to escape into the street where he was helped by some passers-by, while the attackers, who fled down the stairs, disappeared.
From the first testimonies collected, the presence of a woman also emerged, seen leaving the square together with the two men.
The Flying Squad and the Scientific Police arrived on site immediately.
The description of the criminal responsible for the stabbing led investigators to believe that he could be GM, a multiple-convict, also burdened by a conviction for murder.
This belief was immediately confirmed by viewing the images of some video surveillance systems present in the area, which filmed him, together with his accomplice, entering the door of the building where the attack occurred.
The Flying Squad then began searching for the man, quickly tracking him down at his home where they also found his partner.
In light of the testimonies collected, of the images extrapolated from the video surveillance circuits and also considering the fact that the suspect, although he had changed his clothes, was still wearing the shoes (which, moreover, were stained with blood) worn during the violent action, he was arrested under arrest for the crimes of attempted aggravated robbery and aggravated voluntary harm.
Faced with the evident evidence thus collected, GM, although giving a reconstruction partially different from what was reconstructed by the agents, admitted his responsibility and, although he did not want to name his accomplice, told his partner to lead the Flying Squad in the place known only to her, where the clothing worn at the time of the attack had been thrown away (a rubbish bin) together with the cutter used to hit the victim, allowing it to be found and seized.
The partner, MA was investigated in a state of freedom for the attempted robbery and the injuries, in collaboration with the other two accomplices.
In the meantime, investigations into the mobile phone used by the arrested person have highlighted numerous contacts that took place yesterday, both before and immediately after the robbery, with IR, a multiple-convict resident in Pescara, and with a physiognomy compatible with that of the unknown participant in the attempted robbery.
We therefore proceeded with a search of his home, finding and seizing a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of jeans completely similar to the shoes and trousers worn by his accomplice.
Then IR was reported in a state of freedom for complicity in the attempted robbery and injuries.
The investigators went to the hospital where the victim's complaint was obtained, reported for "blank wound to the lateral region of the neck on the right, mandibular region and left ear", with a prognosis of 60 days SC, with hospitalization.
