Pavia, San Matteo-Diasorin, searches by the Financial Police

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Pavia has ordered, as part of the investigations coordinated by the Deputy Prosecutor Mario VENDITTI and Doctor Paolo MAZZA, the execution of various home and local searches against various subjects under investigation for disturbing the freedom of the procedure for choosing the contractor and embezzlement . The Guardia di Finanza went to the IRCSS San Matteo, the Insubrica Research Foundation for life, DIASORIN spa and Servire SRL. Among the subjects investigated include the President, the General Director and the Scientific Director of the IRCCS San Matteo Foundation of Pavia, the Head of the Molecular Virology Laboratory of the same institute, as well as the CEO of the Piedmontese biotechnological company Diasorin Spa. The soldiers of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Pavia are seizing, on orders of the local Public Prosecutor's Office, documentation and IT equipment from the processing offices of the Policlinico San Matteo and the biotechnological company. In detail, it would seem that the Piedmontese company of international importance - Diasorin Spa - operating in the biotechnology sector, was favoured, to the detriment of other potential competitors, by transferring to it all the results of the research and experimentation activities carried out by the IRCCS San Matteo Foundation of Pavia, in the serological testing sector for the diagnosis of Covid-19 infection. The activity originates from a complaint presented by a competing company against the collaborative relationship established between the IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo Foundation and the Piedmontese company, for the development of serological and molecular tests for the diagnosis of Covid-19 infection, with the aim of obtaining the CE marking. This agreement was stipulated without guaranteeing an economic advantage for the Piedmontese company. Further investigations are underway to outline the economic and commercial relationships existing between Diasorin, the Insubrico Research Institute Foundation for Life and the company Servire Srl, all operating at the Insubrias Biopark in Gerenzano (VA)
