Olbia, yesterday evening, the Carabinieri of the Radiomobile Section of the Territorial Department arrested a twenty-nine-year-old originally from Cagliari who was responsible for persecutory acts and aggravated threats against a fifty-year-old from Olbia, an acquaintance of his.
The military intervened in Via Imperia in Olbia where a young man had been reported who, by yelling and kicking a parked car, was threatening a woman sitting inside, even physically attacking her by grabbing her neck and jerking her. The man, who suddenly pulled a switchblade from his pocket, aggravated the threats by brandishing it towards the victim.
Arriving promptly on site, the Carabinieri intercepted the man who, hearing the sirens, was trying to escape. Pursued by the military, who were seen catching up, he attempted to extract the knife from his trouser pocket, but was promptly blocked and disarmed, even with the use of pepper spray which was essential to interrupt the action and avoid the situation from worsening. The perpetrator of the gesture was in fact in a clear state of psychophysical alteration presumably due to the intake of narcotic substances and excessive alcohol intake.
From subsequent investigations, having also heard the various witnesses present, it emerged that the victim of the mistreatment, a woman from Olbia who for some years has hosted the young unemployed man in her home, had been the victim of repeated harassment, threats and attacks for some time, but had not never filed a complaint.
During the investigations, the Carabinieri found and seized the switchblade used during the attack and another knife hidden in his trouser pocket, together with a small quantity of marijuana and hashish.
At the end of the ritual operations, the man was arrested and, after the night spent in the security room, transferred to the Sassari - Bancali prison at the disposal of the judicial authority of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Tempio Pausania.
