Novara, dealing and drugs in the station: a 26-year-old arrested.
On Wednesday 17 May, services dedicated to the railway station area were carried out, with the participation of the Crime Prevention Department, the Railway Police and the Local Police of Novara. On this occasion, 180 people were checked, of which 50 foreigners and 48 with police records. During the service, 10 commercial businesses were also checked in the Station area, Corso della Vittoria, Corso Vercelli, Viale Giulio Cesare and Via Monte San Gabriele without finding any particular anomalies.
The dedicated services will also continue this afternoon. Furthermore, on the evening of Thursday 18 May, the State Police of Novara, specifically the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, reported a 26-year-old boy for drug dealing.
Specifically, the patrol car, during the service for the control of the territory, passing through Viale Verdi, noticed a vehicle suddenly slow down at the sight of the car with the institute colours. Growing suspicious of this deceleration, the officers stopped the vehicle to carry out a police check. There were four people inside the car and the driver immediately tried to hide something inside his trouser pocket; The officers, seeing this, asked if he was hiding objects intended to offend, receiving a negative response and spontaneously handing over a cellophane wrapper containing a narcotic substance such as hashish.
Then the officers carried out a thorough check of the vehicle and the other occupants; in fact, during the check, the driver spontaneously handed over a second wrapper containing hashish, which had been hidden under the handbrake lever and at the same time handed over a precision scale.
