On Friday 26 May, the agents of the "Investigation Section" of the PS Commissariat of Nardò, as part of the fight against the rampant phenomenon of drug consumption, completed a brilliant operation which ended with the arrest of 33-year-old GA from Porto Cesareo, responsible of the crime of possession of narcotic substances such as cocaine and marijuana.

The officers first monitored the suspicious apartment for hours, noticing a coming and going of people and vehicles arriving at the house that was the object of attention and after stopping inside for a few moments they hurriedly moved away. Therefore, the agents, taking advantage of the next probable buyer, accessed the garden belonging to the house, where GA was present, who managed to escape with a bag in his hand to escape control. Pursued by the officers, the man tried to get rid of the drug by dissolving part of it in the air and he hid part of it in the grass of an uncultivated field, but hunted by the officers, his run stopped after a few kilometres. Retracing the route, the officers managed to recover a large part of the cocaine-type drug sown in the grass of the field, equal to gr. 74,65, as well as the bag with a scale and a 10 euro banknote inside. The officers also carried out a search of the house, in which they were able to see that the kitchen area had been transformed into a real drug laboratory. In fact, in addition to packaging and weighing material (lighter, knife soaked in glue and paper, scissors, roll of envelopes, baking paper and other material), a plastic container was found with 20 thermo-transparent cellophane packages inside. sealed containing a cocaine-type substance with a total weight of 15,80 g. 7,09; in the bathroom narcotic substance of the type marijuana with a total weight of gr. XNUMX.

For the above, the man was arrested and, upon order of the PM on duty, he was taken to the Lecce prison.
