Naples, crackdown on illegal taxi drivers and parkers: sanctions and seizures in the Central Station.

On Tuesday, the officers of the Railway Police Department of Napoli, with targeted surveillance services and by viewing the images of the video surveillance systems present, they ascertained and contested various administrative violations by applying the relevant sanctions.

During the service, two "illegal parkers" were fined and one of these was also reported as he was caught again carrying out the illegal activity.

An "illegal taxi driver" was caught, however, while he was intent on attracting unsuspecting foreign tourists as soon as they left the station and he was charged with several violations of the Highway Code, including the seizure for the purpose of confiscation of the vehicle and withdrawal of the driving licence, raising fines for an amount of 2000 euros; the same, among other things, had devised a singular system to communicate with travelers through the voice synthesizer with simultaneous translation of a well-known browser.

The tourists were subsequently directed by the operators to the regular taxi park with great satisfaction also for the category.

Sanctions

The three sanctioned individuals were notified of the removal order pursuant to art. 9 of Legislative Decree 14/2017, as amended by Legislative Decree 130/2020, and the relevant investigation has started for the application of the DACUR (prohibition of access to urban areas).
