Naples, on New Year's Eve the Chief of Police General Director of Public Security Prefect Victor Pisani he wanted to express his opinion on the last day of the year gratitude to the policemen committed to ensuring safety in the cities, in squares and tourist locations throughout Italy.
Prefect Pisani did so by connecting via radio and video from the operations room of the Naples Police Headquarters with all the operations rooms of the Italian Police Headquarters and with the Departments of the Road and Railway Police, the Situation Center of the Interior Ministry, the operations room of the Central Directorate of Immigration and Borders, the CNAIPIC and the operations rooms of the public security inspectorates.

The Chief of Police thanked all the policemen on duty on New Year's Eve, iin particular those present in the operations rooms which represent the daily monitoring for citizens. The operations rooms themselves, continued the Chief of Police, are the constant point of reference for the citizen, where the words used to respond to requests for help and the timeliness in organizing an intervention, when the citizen is in need, they are fundamental and affect the reputation of the entire State Police.
On those occasions, the Director General of Public Security finally underlined, bwe need to give efficient responses that influence the citizen's opinion of the Police. All this often depends on the response capacity of the operations rooms.
The Chief of Police also fondly remembered his operational experience as a young commissioner in Naples and the importance that the operations room had in managing rescue interventions.
Finally, he thanked the operations rooms of Rome, Florence, Bari and Milano for the precious work carried out in the management of the squares and in protecting important and delicate sensitive objectives present in the respective territories
The Police Commissioner of Rome spoke via video link Carmine Belfiore which recalled the great commitment of the women and men of the State Police to guarantee security and public order in the Capital even on New Year's Eve.
From the Traffic Police Operations Center of Novate Milanese, the director of the Lombardy Traffic Police Department spoke, Carlotta Gallo, which took stock of the traffic and services provided on the roads throughout the Region to prevent accidents due, in particular, to to alcohol and drug abuse.
At midnight the Chief of Police Pisani wished him good work and Happy New Year to all officers on duty and their families, personally greeting the policemen present at the police station.
