Montecchio Maggiore, Vicenza: extraordinary control. 2 expulsions on national territory.

During the evening of Thursday 25 January, a extraordinary control of the territory in the municipality of Montecchio Maggiore.

The State Police, the Financial Police and the Local Police of Montecchio contributed to the activity.

They were monitored areas and commercial establishments reported by the Local Police and the Municipality as requiring particular attention, also following reports from citizens.

171 people identified (of which 57 foreigners and 35 with criminal and/or police records), 39 vehicles and 5 commercial businesses were checked. 2 checkpoints carried out.

Traffic Police and Railway Police have implemented targeted checks near the motorway toll booth and in the surrounding railway stations.

At the end of the activity, the Police commissioner of the province of Vicenza has issued no. 2 expulsion orders from the national territory against a Serbian citizen from 1960, traced inside a bar in Piazza Carli, illegal on the national territory and with various criminal and/or police records for crimes against the person and against property. A similar provision was issued against a Nigerian born in 1998, traced near the bus stop, irregular on the TN and with various criminal records for crimes against the person.

They will have to leave the national territory within 7 days, otherwise they will be arrested or accompanied immediately to the border or to CPR.

“The activity carried out highlights an effective synergy between the Police Forces - in this case the State Police and the Financial Police - with the Local Police, to implement shared strategies for the control of city areas considered critical for public safety, public order and urban decay. Similar operations will continue also in the coming weeks, so much so that, with the Local Police of Montecchio Maggiore, specific enforcement activities have been scheduled to be carried out synergistically in the municipal area", this is the comment of the Police Commissioner of the province of Vicenza.
