Montecchio Maggiore, Vicenza. High Impact joint operation: 162 people identified and 43 vehicles checked

The checks carried out and the activities carried out are a clear signal of the synergy between all the police forces to monitor the safety of citizens.

They continue in the province of Vicenza High Impact Joint Operations shared during specific meetings chaired by the Prefect of Vicenza, and then implemented with the participation of all the Police Forces, with the technical-operational coordination of the Police Commissioner.

On the afternoon of Tuesday 16 April a impressive operational service with the aim of guaranteeing greater levels of safety in areas considered at risk. In particular, the city of Montecchio Maggiore was affected by targeted controls aimed at the prevention and repression of crimes of a predatory nature, thefts in homes and commercial activities, as well as those relating to drug dealing and irregular presence on the national territory.

It was also carried out atargeted control activity on public establishments, especially in the food and beverage supply sector, also to verify compliance with sector regulations.

Checkpoints were carried out in various strategic points of the city and surrounding areas, with a view to preventing and combating criminal activities, also paying attention to the major road arteries, often used as escape routes after the commission of crimes of a predatory nature .

Some objectives reported by the Mayor of Montecchio Maggiore were also checked, also through the Local Police, in a logic of collaboration and maximum synergy between the bodies that in various capacities carry out tasks in the field of public safety.

Crews from the State Police, the Carabinieri and the Montecchio Maggiore Local Police participated in the High Impact activity, with the following contributions:

- For the State Police: crews from the Vicenza Police Headquarters - Flying Officers Office, Immigration Office, Scientific Police, Road Police Section, Railway Police Section, and "Veneto" Crime Prevention Department of Padua;

- For the Carabinieri: patrols from the Montecchio Maggiore Tenenza and the Montebello Vicentino and Crespadoro stations, as well as crews from the Valdagno Operations and Radiomobile Unit;

- For the local police: support crews for public order needs and crews specialized in administrative controls.

The aforementioned operational module therefore allowed the deployment on the territory of 32 specialized operators, belonging to the various Offices and Commands indicated above.

Check various commercial establishments (bars and taverns) reported by the neighborhood for disturbing noise or due to the notable presence of people who cause disturbance.

Targeted checks were also carried out at some condominium complexes reported by the municipal administration as a possible meeting place for illegal foreigners, for a careful verification of residence positions.

The results of the operation led to the identification of 162 people,  of which 62 foreigners; with criminal and/or police records: 37 people; controlled 43 vehicles e 6 between Checked commercial establishments/bars/betting shops.

Further investigations are still underway by the specialist offices of the various forces involved for in-depth analysis of the sector.

The operational module was shared, as usual, within the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, with a view to strengthening the security framework in the area in terms of prevention and repression of predatory crimes and strengthening perceived security by citizens.
