In recent days the soldiers of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Modica Company, assisted by colleagues from the Scicli Tenenza and the local station, have drawn a 25-year-old local man arrested in flagrante delicto, worker and with no criminal record, for possession of an illegal weapon, a revolver not registered in the database and a large amount of ammunition.

The young man was subjected to personal and vehicle searches by the military personnel operating at the workplace. In fact, the first phase of the police operation was launched with the control of his car inside which, hidden in a bag containing clothing, was found a pistol, originally blank and later altered, without serial number, in perfect working order and with around a hundred cartridges.

Following this discovery, the operators proceeded to extend the judicial police activity to the home of the interested party where, hidden in the bedside table adjacent to the young man's bed, it was found a further common shooting weapon, exactly a loaded 6 caliber revolver with an ammunition consisting of approximately 30 cartridges, as well as additional 16 caliber hunting cartridges. Immediately the operating soldiers proceeded to securing the weapons found, which were seized as well as the related ammunition. Having informed the Judicial Authority of the events, the man was subjected to house arrest at his home.
