Modica, 2 men arrested in an operation to crack down on drug dealing in the area: 600g of marijuana and 33g of hashish seized. 

In recent days the soldiers of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Modica, persevering in the traditional police activity aimed at repressing drug dealing in the area of competence, they drew under arrest for the crime of possession, cultivation and production of narcotic substances, specifically marijuana, a 48-year-old resident in Ispica, but domiciled in the municipality of Noto, married, unemployed and with specific precedents in the matter.

Within the same activity and always in the area of ​​Ispica, the military proceeded to report a young 20-year-old local man, unmarried and unemployed, who also has a police record against him, in a state of freedom. The interested parties, made aware of the law faculties, were subjected to personal and house searches at their respective homes and appliances.

The man had hidden approximately 430 grams of marijuana in the process of drying in a warehouse adjacent to his home, while inside his bedroom he kept 170 grams already dried and ready for sale, also given the availability of an electronic kitchen scale and a precision scale.

The young man from Ispicia, however, hid 33 grams of hashish, divided into 9 doses, in a garage at the disposal of a relative of his in order to evade the checks of the police officers who had reported him for the same type of crime not a few months earlier. Having notified the respective competent Public Prosecutor's Offices, house arrest has been ordered for the man, while the young man will be charged with a free release.

The objective of the soldiers of the Modica Company to combat the rampant phenomenon of drug dealing among young and old has ensured, with today's results, an important result and, above all, has demonstrated the profitability of the external services of the 'Weapon, which has reached its territorial borders to enforce compliance with the law.
