Modena. Illegal dehors and illegal workers in the city center.

He was sanctioned by the local police for illegal occupation of public land as well as for other irregularities, but the checks carried out together with the Labor Inspectorate also led to ascertaining that in the business, a room in the historic center of Modena, was employed a worker who is not regularly employed.

The control service by the Commerce Unit of the local police of Modena together with operators from the Labor Inspectorate, Police Headquarters and Financial Police, was carried out on the evening of Thursday 28 March, when the restaurant was in full swing with numerous customers both inside and in the external area where occupancy was confirmed, without authorization, on public land with numerous furnishings, such as tables, benches, chairs and stools, for over 40 square meters. Also contested was the absence of the mandatory sign indicating the opening and closing times of the commercial activity and the lack of indication relating to the prohibition on selling and serving alcohol to minors. For such irregularities the administrative fines imposed by local police operators amount to a total of 631 euros.

Furthermore, operators from the Labor Inspectorate conducted investigations regarding work, protection and safety in the workplace. It was therefore ascertained that one of the three workers employed in the premises, a 28-year-old girl, was working without any regular contract and therefore, the suspension of activity due to the use of illegal labour with a fine of 8 thousand euros against the manager of the establishment. Furthermore, failure to comply with a series of rules for the protection and safety of workers resulted in other administrative and criminal sanctions for a further 13 thousand euros.

Overall, therefore, the irregularities ascertained by the local police and the labor inspectorate resulted in fines of over 21.600 euros.
