Modena, building in via del Murazzo cleared: four complaints.
Four men, of Tunisian nationality, were reported for invasion of a building, surprised by the operators of the local police of Modena inside the building in via del Murazzo 68. The eviction took place this morning, Tuesday 18 April, after weeks some citizens had reported suspicious comings and goings in the area of the building, which had been empty and unused for some time.
The operators of the Territory and Historic Center Problems Unit, supported by the Pit dog unit, entered the building together with a representative of the property around 8 am. In the ten apartments that make up the building, several beds were identified, a sign of the presence of people, and in one of the homes the four men, aged between 23 and 42, were actually discovered. Accompanied to the headquarters in via Galilei, they were subjected to photo identification; checks on ministerial databases revealed that three of them are irregular in Italy. They will therefore also have to answer for the violation of immigration regulations. Furthermore, during the inspection, the local police operators also discovered an illegal connection to the Hera network, through which electricity was illicitly supplied.
After the eviction, which was completed in less than a couple of hours, the owners began cleaning operations and closed the entrances to the building. Until 2020 the property was part of the network of Extraordinary Reception Centers (Cas) and over time it has therefore hosted foreign people arriving in the area.
