The military personnel, who intervened immediately, after having noted the break-in and the theft of part of the cash register, started the search, intercepting the three in Via degli Osci, still intent on forcing the stolen cash register. Upon seeing the soldiers, the criminals attempted to escape but, after a short chase on foot, they were stopped and identified.

It was 02.00 this night when the Operations Center of the Maddaloni Company received a report of a theft in progress at a clothing and general store located in Via Sergente Del Monaco of that centre. The military personnel, who intervened immediately, after having noted the break-in and the theft of part of the cash register, started the search, intercepting the three in Via degli Osci, still intent on forcing the stolen cash register. Upon seeing the soldiers, the criminals attempted to escape but, after a short chase on foot, they were stopped and identified.

The subsequent personal search made it possible to find, in the pockets of those arrested, coins of various denominations, a woman's stocking used to mask the face and a glass-breaking hammer. Not far away, the police recovered the damaged box containing, in addition to the money, numerous tax receipts from the robbed shop and the pickaxe used to force the container. What was found was seized.

Those arrested were held in barracks, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
