Locri, the dangerous fugitive Gioffrè Bruno arrested after a year and a half. 

As part of the info-operational activity conducted in Locride by the Carabinieri of the Locri Group and the Calabria Hunters Helicopter Squadron in recent days the possible presence of a fugitive in a house in the countryside of the Municipality of Benestare had emerged.

The Carabinieri therefore, after several observation services, having been certain of the presence of the man inside the house, decided to start the intervention, together with the GICO staff of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Messina, who were in charge of the restrictive measure and who had been specifically contacted,  tracking down Gioffrè Bruno, 33 years old from San Luca, recently included in the list of dangerous fugitives, who escaped the precautionary custody order in prison issued by the investigating judge of the Court of Messina, as part of the operation conventionally called "Impass", since believed to belong to an association aimed at drug trafficking and without prejudice, in relation to the aforementioned facts, to subsequent assessments of merit.

At the sight of the military, the dangerous fugitive would also have attempted, in vain, to escape arrest, but was immediately blocked by the military of the Helicopter Squadron "Cacciatori" of Calabria who had completely cordoned off the air.

Gioffrè was discovered in the home of a married couple close to him by family ties, who were arrested in flagrante delicto for having supported and encouraged his fugitive, offering him room and board.

Gioffrè Bruno was associated with the Arghillà prison in Reggio Calabria, while the abettors, on the orders of the proceeding AG, were transferred to their home under house arrest, awaiting the validation hearing.

The capture was made possible thanks also to the coordination and synergy between the District Prosecutor's Offices of Reggio Calabria and Messina and the Prosecutor's Office of Locri.
