Livorno, caught with a 24cm knife in front of the station. 50-year-old reported by the Carabinieri
The investigative commitment of the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Livorno continues through the daily work of the Carabinieri Stations in force at the Company Command and always supported by the NORM military, as well as within the scope of external activities for the prevention of crimes in general, concentrated precisely in the areas of the city most affected by phenomena of urban decay and where they include those types of crimes that can disturb public order and safety, in particular in the area included from Piazza Garibaldi Piazza della Repubblica up to the parallel streets of Via del Larderel to the areas facing the Livorno train station.
It is precisely within this operational framework that the Carabinieri of the Livorno Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus, within the framework of the intensification of the territorial control activity, they reported at liberty a fifty-year-old from Livorno but resident in the Pisa area for the crime of unjustified possession of objects capable of causing offence.
The Carabinieri noticed the man near the train station where, in the morning, they were carrying out checks with a view to preventing crimes. Having detected the presence of some subjects on foot and, noting their shy and suspicious attitude, they subjected him to a check. As a result of this, his previous convictions emerged, and he also expressed intolerance for the checks, so much so that the military deepened their inspection activity, surprising him in possession of a "pattada" type switchblade knife with a total length of 24 cm, of which 12 cm were the blade.
The 50enne, who was unable to provide a justified reason for the possession and carrying in a public place of the object found, he then saw everything seized by the Carabinieri and was reported at large to the Public Prosecutor's Office of Livorno.
