Livorno: a bakery closed due to poor hygiene and infestations. A 46-year-old man who escaped from house arrest in Piombino was reported for using a stolen ATM.

Il Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Livorno, in line with the strategic directives of the Prefecture, has always been attentive to the protection of public health, an objective which it also pursues with the involvement of the special departments of the Army. As part of the campaign control of food handling and production exercises, the Carabinieri of the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Livorno carried out an inspection at a baking business in the capital, to verify compliance with current legislation and prevent potential risks.

The military ascertained that the rooms used as a laboratory and storage were kept in poor hygienic-sanitary conditions, with widespread previous dirt and residues from previous work on the flooring and equipment. For these reasons, but also and above all because the presence of pests (cockroaches) was found in various points, the owner, a 44-year-old from Livorno, was fined 1.000 euros, a measure to which was added theimmediate closure and suspension of activity by the local ASL which will continue until the deficiencies detected are remedied. The checks will continue throughout the provincial territory by the territorial Carabinieri and the NAS

I Carabinieri of the Piombino station they identified and reported a 46-year-old who, after having escaped from his home, allegedly carried out numerous crimes payments at downtown businesses with a stolen ATM. Following a thorough investigation resulting from the report of fraudulent use of a credit card, presented in early May by a 54-year-old from Piombino, the military identified the alleged person responsible for the crime. This would be a 46-year-old of Brescian origin who, despite being subjected to house detention at his home in Piombino, since November 2022, had escaped on two different occasions when, on two different days, he had communicated to the police offices responsible for check to go out for health reasons. But that wasn't the case. In both cases, in fact, careful investigations made it possible to ascertain that the man had never visited a doctor's office, emergency room or emergency room.

During those outings he would instead have made numerous payments at various shops in the area for a total of around 170 euros with a card which later turned out to be stolen. The payments, made before the legitimate owner noticed the theft and blocked his ATM card, were made in "contactless" mode, i.e. without entering the card's pin code. The Carabinieri investigation made it possible to reconstruct the suspect's movements, also thanks to the municipal video surveillance cameras and some commercial establishments where the card had been used, from which it was possible to recognize the man. Further feedback was then derived from the information acquired by the operators from the shop owners themselves. The man was reported to the Labronica AG for tax evasion and improper use of credit cards.
