Lecco, an elderly man who disappeared on Sunday but was found by the police

Lecco, on the afternoon of Sunday 12.06.2021, at the operations room of the State Police - Lecco Police Headquarters, a call came from a woman who, very worried, reported that she had lost sight of her senior for a couple of hours husband, suffering from senile dementia and mutism, while they were at a restaurant on the Lungolario Lecco.

The police operator, having collected all the necessary information, issued the search note to the police present in the area.
The State Police Agents, after having searched the lakefront far and wide without any success, realized that the man, in a moment of lucidity, could have walked towards his home, about 5 kilometers away from the restaurant where he had had lunch.
In fact, along the route the police officers identified the elderly gentleman who, at the sight of the operators, scared and in a state of confusion, fled, crossing the road with obvious risks for himself and for road users, at that moment very busy.
Therefore, while an Officer got out of the cockpit to physically stop the man who was in an evident state of confusion, the driver positioned the car in such a way as to signal the danger and therefore slow down the traffic.
Once they reached him, the policemen managed to reassure him and shortly afterwards handed him back to his wife, who, visibly moved, thanked the officers.
