Latina, beating and violence against wife since 2018: she goes to prison.

Yesterday, staff from the State Police Station of Cisterna di Latina, in compliance with ordinance no. 3645/23 PM and 2723/GIP issued regarding the crimes of domestic abuse and sexual violence, the GIP Office of the Court of Latina proceeded with the arrest of a foreign citizen.

The precautionary measure was adopted by the Judicial Authority following the investigations carried out regarding the complaints filed by the ex-wife, victim of violent, abusive and offensive behaviour, carried out by the arrested person over a prolonged period of time within the family context.

Fury against people and furnishings

This violence, reported by the woman as mainly consisting of beatings and death threats, would have arisen as early as 2018 even in the presence of her younger daughter, as a consequence of the excessive use of alcohol. The man's fury was sometimes also directed against the doors of the house and various furnishings, which were destroyed in moments of violence. The complaints filed were also accompanied by medical certifications attesting to the injuries sustained following the beatings.

Finally, in two circumstances, the man tried to sexually abuse her, groping her private parts although hindered by the victim's resistance. The man was associated with the Latina prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
