La Spezia: Guardia di Finanza saves woman from fire

In the Canaletto district, a car was involved in a fire. Two agents of the Guardia di Finanza, noting that a lady was at risk of being involved, They promptly warned her and rescued her, extracting her from her car, near the one on fire. Subsequently, the Fire Brigade intervened and put out the fire.

Regarding this intervention, the mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini states: “I express my heartfelt congratulations and deepest thanks to the two finance officers who, with great courage and self-denial, saved a fellow citizen who could have been involved in the car fire that broke out yesterday in the Canaletto neighborhood. The finance police, risking their own safety, intervened to ask the woman to get out of the car next to the one on fire, to prevent the fire from spreading and involving her and her car.

This episode reminds us of the extraordinary value of those who, every day, are ready to respond promptly, with sacrifice and professionalism, to protect and help others. I am grateful and proud to have in our territory men and women who, with commitment and civic sense, work for our safety.
