Agrigento, they escape from the community: 5 minors tracked down.

The officers of the railway police Agrigento they tracked down 5 foreign minors inside the local station who had arbitrarily moved away from the Agrigento community to which they had been entrusted.

The boys, aged between 16 and 17, coming from the Horn of Africa, were at the station because they intended to reach Palermo with the first available train.

The police, after the ritual checks, on the orders of the Judicial Authority, re-entrusted them to the community from which they had fled.

Other precedents

From January to April 2022, throughout Sicily, Polfer tracked down 43 people, including 34 minors, a number that increased by 34% compared to the same period of the previous year when 32 missing people were found, including 22 minors.

These are mainly male people and foreign nationals who move away from reception centers to reach places in the North or abroad, but also young people who separate from their family of origin following family disagreements.

As for adults, in the majority of cases these are people, especially elderly people or those with mental problems who, after leaving their home, are unable to return.
