Imola, extorts 60 thousand euros from his ex-partner so as not to reveal the affair to his wife: arrested together with his accomplice

Imola (Bologna), they had an extramarital relationship in 2016. He was an entrepreneur from the Imola area, she was his employee. The story then ended without any consequences, even though the woman had changed jobs, moving to live in the city of Bologna.

Since 2018, however, she had reappeared - accompanied by her new partner - in front of her former employer, making increasingly insistent requests for money, so as not to reveal the truth about their relationship to her wife.

The threats, repeated, pressing and always linked to the same motivation, had earned the extortionist couple, over the course of three years, a total of €60.000, delivered on several occasions by the entrepreneur. The two criminals even ensured that - in the initial period of the pandemic - the victim purchased numerous batches of surgical masks directly from them at exorbitant prices, compared to ordinary market prices.

A few days ago the turning point. The fifty-year-old man makes up his mind and presents himself at the Carabinieri station of Castel San Pietro Terme, where - in desperation - he presents a detailed complaint on the facts, in which he denounces the latest extortion request: for the date of 29 September, at 7am on morning, he should have quickly delivered an additional €10.000 in cash to his company.

The soldiers of the station, supported by colleagues from the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of Imola, authorized by the PM of the Bologna Prosecutor's Office, Dr. Ambrosino, immediately activated a technical investigation which allowed the two convicted criminals to be arrested in flagrante delicto: one fifty-three years old (also subject to the obligation to stay in another municipality), the other thirty-eight years old. As soon as they pocketed the cash, they were stopped by the military and taken to the headquarters of the Carabinieri Company in Imola, for subsequent transfer to the Bologna prison.

For the entrepreneur the nightmare is over and the €10.000 has been returned to him.
