The body of Hannah Lynch, the eighteen-year-old daughter of British tycoon Mike Lynch, has been recovered by firefighter divers. She was the last person missing from the sinking of the sailing vessel Bayesian, which occurred off the coast of Porticello, in the province of Palermo. The search resumed this morning, focusing on the inside of the hull of the sailing vessel, where six bodies had already been found. Five of them were found outside the cabins, in an area that flooded shortly before the vessel sank, a sign of a desperate escape attempt.
Hannah's body was taken to the dock of the Porticello pier, and subsequently transferred to the morgue for official recognition. This is a tragic epilogue for the young student, described by those who knew her as a model girl, ready to begin her studies in Oxford after graduating from one of the most exclusive schools in the United Kingdom.
The authorities are investigating the causes of the shipwreck, with possible crimes including shipwreck, disaster, multiple homicide and injuries. The incident evoked great emotion, especially given that Hannah was a promising young woman with a bright future ahead of her. The matter remains under the magnifying glass of investigators, while the Lynch family and those who knew Hannah mourn her loss.
