Guidizzolo (Mantua), tries to extort money but falls into the trap of the Carabinieri.

On the evening of 7 July 2023, the Carabinieri of the Guidizzolo station, assisted by colleagues from the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Castiglione delle Stiviere Company, arrested a twenty-year-old resident in the Upper Mantua area in flagrante delicto, with the accusation of extortion in competition.

In the circumstance the victim, an Indian citizen, was contacted by one of his compatriots who requested the cash sum of 250 euros for the return of his lost wallet.

The exchange

The same established that the exchange should have taken place inside the car park of a supermarket in Guidizzolo during the evening. The victim, who in the meantime had filed a complaint at the Carabinieri station in Guidizzolo, showed up at the meeting, where, however, the military personnel were also there to monitor the phases of the exchange.

The alleged perpetrator of the crime, having arrived on the scene, handed over the wallet in exchange for the agreed money, being immediately stopped by the Carabinieri on duty, and identified as the complainant's fellow countryman.

Arrested

The man was declared under arrest and taken to the offices of the Arma command for the ritual operations.

The arrested person was subsequently taken to the Mantua prison and yesterday afternoon, 10 July, the investigating judge at the Mantua Court validated the arrest.
