Grosseto, important anti-drug intervention by the municipal police last night in the via De Barberi area. The agents intervened as part of the "Clean Buildings" operation inside the abandoned area near the Le Palme shopping center. The Municipality had already been monitoring the area for some time, a destination for various "customers" to purchase narcotic substances. At the time of the intervention, the drug dealer, of foreign nationality, threw some stones at the officers and, armed with a stick, attempted to escape. Once reached, the man injured three officers by hitting one in the face with the baton and was arrested. During the escape attempt, the drug dealer tried to get rid of the weapon, which was then recovered together with a block of hashish and a precision scale.
In the subsequent search, another 66 doses of cocaine ready for sale were found, as well as money obtained from dealing. The drug dealer was taken to prison that same night at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The operation was made possible thanks to a detailed investigation which led the officers to find out the man's timetable and modus operandi, who every evening showed up in the area which had been abandoned for some time due to the illicit activity.
