Giulia, the magistrates recall, was killed with 75 stab wounds, including about twenty in her hands while she was trying to defend herself, and was also hit several times in the face. But there is more. Turetta had jotted it down in a file on the computerdeleted but then recovered by IT experts, “how to tie Giulia, with duct tape on her hands, ankles, knees and also how to cover her mouth”. In Turetta's online research, writes the Corriere della Sera, there were rumors like “insulating tape, handcuffs, rope, shovel, black bags”.

In the indictment notified to Turetta by pm Andrea Petroni, it is written that the 22-year-old's searches for materials useful to the criminal plan on the web began “at least November 7th” – the murder dates back to the night of the 11th – but it is probable, according to the magistrates, that Philip planned the kidnapping and killing of Giulia “longer”, in the long days spent at home doing nothing other than thinking about the girl who had left him and monitoring her movements on social media with the use of “IT applications”.
