The suspects are accused of having taken over the commercial business called "Libeccio” (bar, ice cream shop, trade and administration of food and drinks), located on Pegli seafront, and to have fictitiously registered it in the name of nominees in order to hide its traceability to the real owner Angelo Russo, originally from Rione Traiano in Naples, currently detained, reported as convicted by Court of Appeal of Naples in 2011 for drug trafficking and arrested in Genoa in 2019, during an anti-drug operation conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples, as part of a network of drug traffickers based in the Campania capital. In particular, from the investigations synergistically conducted by Squadra Mobile of Genoa and SISCO of the State Police and from GICO of the Economic-Financial Police Unit of Genoa and by SCICO of the Financial Police, it emerged that Angelo Russo has acquired de facto ownership of the local “Libeccio” through the convenient address to Liberato Soriente, originally from Torre Annunziata, but long resident in Genoa where he has always worked as a bartender.

Despite the formal header to the Soriente, the management activity of the “Libeccio” has always been personally directed by Angelo Russo, who, hidden behind the frontman, through the use of capital believed to be of dubious origin, also carried out the complete renovation of the premises, which had been subject of an arson fire in 2016 when the business was run by the previous owners. To conduct the commercial exercise, Russo also made use of other trusted people, including his son Mario, who specifically moved to Genoa from Naples and was recently injured in an ambush with gunshots in the Traiano district. Furthermore, other people believed to be close to him also intervened in the management of the "Libeccio", again on behalf of Angelo Russo, including Francesco Cinquegranella, son of a leading exponent of the Camorra, on the run since 2002, Antonio Novelletti and a sister of Angelo Russo himself, Antoinette.

The fictitious registration of the commercial business to convenient entities allowed Angelo Russo to manage the restaurant on the Lungomare di Pegli continuously since 2018, concealing the traceability of the investment to his person and thus avoiding possible seizures of the economic activity resulting from serious drug crimes, for which he was also definitively convicted. With the precautionary measure carried out today by Financial Police and the State Police was arranged custody in prison for Angelo Russo, The house arrest for Francesco Cinquegranella, Mario Russo and Antonio Novelletti andresidence obligation with daily presentation to the judicial police for Liberato Soriente and Antonietta Russo, sister of Angelo Russo. Furthermore, the "Libeccio" commercial business has been subjected to preventive seizure and will continue its activity under the management of a judicial administrator. At the same time as the precautionary measures, the Financial Police and the State Police are taking action execution of searches delegated by the Judicial Authority of Genoa to Naples and the province of Udine.
