Genoa, "Certosa 2021" operation: drug dealing ring run by a 65-year-old dismantled.
The State Police of GenoVa, last May 20th, executed five precautionary measures, of which three Custodies in Prison and two Residence Obligations in the Municipality of Genoa, at the end of an investigation, which began in the summer of 2021, into five subjects responsible in various capacities for drug dealing and extortion.
The investigations started from some reports about a known multiple criminal, aged 65, of Rivarolo, dedicated to the trafficking of significant quantities of heroin and cocaine. Since the first days of activity, the Investigation Team of the Cornigliano Police Station has found evidence of this drug dealing activity and has seized narcotics from various subjects. The seizure of approximately 400 g was significant. of heroin against a forty-five year old who was arrested red-handed.
The investigations
Under the coordination of the local Prosecutor's Office, the investigations continued with the use of technical means, such as the installation of cameras and telephone interceptions, and made it possible to reconstruct the modus operandi of the drug dealer, who made use of the almost constant collaboration of four subjects, including his stepson.
From the investigations it clearly emerged that he was the undisputed leader of the criminal group, in fact the man regularly gave his instructions on how, when and from whom the narcotic should be purchased and on how, when and at what price it should then be resold. In multiple circumstances the 65-year-old, supported by his closest collaborators, inflicted physical violence and threats against "customers" who were not punctual with payments.
Arrests and seizures
The investigations also highlighted that the 65-year-old, suspicious of the various seizures of narcotics carried out by the Investigation Team, in order to continue his criminal activity, constantly changed telephone numbers, thus hoping not to be intercepted and that his reference "suppliers" were some subjects who operated mostly in the Provinces of Alessandria and Pavia.
In this regard, we highlight two arrests, involving a 40-year-old and a 56-year-old, the former caught with over 100 grams of cocaine and heroin respectively, the latter with over 400 grams of the same narcotic substances, both trusted collaborators of the 65-year-old.
The results of the operation
Overall, the judicial police operation, in addition to the five precautionary measures carried out last May 20, led to the flagrant arrest of six people for drug dealing, to the denunciation of two individuals in a state of freedom for detention, to the order to trade narcotics, the execution of five personal precautionary measures and the seizure of 890 grams of heroin and 268 grams of cocaine.
