Gallipoli: 8 grams of hashish seized, two subjects reported with a glass breaker and two people rescued

The owner of a car market with illegal gazebos and tables was also fined.

Gallipoli, control and rescue activities at sea continue: 8 grams of hashish seized, two subjects found with a glass breaker reported, two people rescued.

Extraordinary checks continue in the city of Gallipoli arranged by Police Commissioner of Lecce to combat widespread illegality, also thanks to the reinforcements of the patrols of the Crime Prevention Department of Lecce and of the units from other police stations and departmental offices. In recent days, during patrols in Baia Verde, the officers stopped, for an ordinary check, a young tourist who was caught with about 8 grams of hashish, which is why the drugs were seized and he was reported for possession of a narcotic substance. Also in Baia Verde, the police officers involved in controlling the territory were stopped at dawn by two very young victims on holiday which they had been on shortly before robbed of their cell phones, by two individuals, homeless, who, after the theft, had disappeared into the pine forest adjacent to the Baia Verde coast road.

The police, despite the operational difficulties due to the presence of thick vegetation, managed to enter the pine forest area where they found a small camp of three non-EU citizens, of which only one is in order on the national territory. Therefore, the others two men were taken to the police station for the necessary checks and photo-signalling, at the end of which they were expelled from the national territory with two orders from the Police Commissioner to leave the national territory. During other patrols, the flying squad officers checked near the bus terminal two young people from Campania who, at the sight of the police car, tried to evade the control, while at the same time appearing a little nervous. After a thorough check, a backpack emerged emergency glass breaker hammer with two bilateral metal tips, of which those arrested were unable to justify their possession. The seized objects, indicated in the burglary, would probably have been used to carry out car thefts. The 20-year-olds were reported for illegal carrying of objects capable of offending.

The control activity in these days of celebration in honor of the patron saint Santa Cristina also took place at sea through the use of the watercraft of the State Police. In particular two rescues were carried out. One in favor of a child who during the "Cuccagna" felt a slight illness which forced him to leave the boat, where he was to attend the long-awaited rite at sea, and to reach the pier through an "unusual" but reassuring passage on board the motorbike waterfall. The other in favor of a young 30 year old in difficulty due to the sirocco wind while positioned on an ocean board (sup). In fact, although the unfortunate man was trying to get closer to the coast by rowing, he was getting further and further away. The reporting to the emergency number 1530, the collaboration of the victim's friend who followed everything from the coast through binoculars and maintained contact with the policemen on duty on the jet skis and their timely intervention avoided the worst. Finally, together with the local police, an investigation was carried out administrative control at a car market located in the Baia Verde area, whose positioning of tables, benches and gazebos was found to be illegal for approximately 40 mXNUMX. Therefore, the operator was sanctioned and will subsequently be reported to the Judicial Authority for illegal occupation of public land.

Gallipoli, continuano le attività di controllo e di soccorso in mare: sequestrati 8 grammi di hashish, denunciati due soggetti trovati con un martelletto frangivetro, soccorse due persone
