Forlì, traffic checks over the weekend: 2 licenses withdrawn and almost 100 points cut

A 59-year-old reported for illegal transport of waste; A 63-year-old man arrested for theft in the parking lot of a motorway service station

Forlì, 2 licenses withdrawn and 85 points subtracted are the balance of the activity of the Forlì Traffic Police over the past weekend, which monitored the main road and motorway arteries of the Province to prevent accidents due to distraction, help drivers in difficulty and penalize bad driving behaviour.

53 patrols were deployed, which rescued 19 motorists, checking more than 130 with breathalyzers and precursors to verify that they were not driving under the influence of alcohol.
On Friday, in particular, a 59-year-old was reported for illegal transport of waste. The patrols were monitoring the Cesena area and immediately noticed a ramshackle van loaded beyond belief with various scraps, in particular pieces of old air conditioners and truck suspensions, transported without the necessary documentation for their traceability.
For the man, originally from Ravenna, in addition to the complaint, various Highway Code sanctions were issued for the poor condition of the vehicle, seized together with all the waste which will now be disposed of regularly.
Also on Friday, in the afternoon, the Judicial Police Team of the Forlì Section, together with the investigators of the "Emilia Romagna" Traffic Police Department, arrested a 14-year-old at the Riccione toll booth of the A/63 for aggravated theft, committed a few hours earlier.
The man, originally from Neapolitan, after having forced a Ducato van parked in the Cantagallo service area dir. North of the A/1, he had taken a brown Louis Vuitton shoulder bag with an Ipad inside, and then took the A/14 motorway in the direction of Rimini aboard a Panda.
However, he could not have known that the investigators, following input from the Traffic Police Department of the Emilia Romagna Traffic Police, were monitoring vehicles and people in the service areas in order to prevent thefts and robberies.
The police began following him at a distance without ever losing sight of him, despite the heavy traffic over the weekend. The Operations Center then positioned another crew from the Forlì Section further ahead and the criminal was stopped at the Riccione toll booth, where he was unable to do anything other than admit his responsibilities.
The man, already known to the police for many similar precedents, was arrested for aggravated theft and his car and stolen goods were seized, which will be returned to the owner, a 52-year-old entrepreneur living in the Venetian area.
