Favara, murder of Salvatore Lupo on August 15th: the ex-father-in-law arrested and accused of murder
Favara (Agrigento), this morning at 05.00, the Carabinieri of the Company of Agrigento and of the Tenenza of Favara, arrested a crime suspect against GB, 66 year old, retired, resident in Favara, held responsible for the murder of Salvatore Lupo, which occurred on the afternoon of August 15th inside a bar in the center of Favara. The restrictive measure, issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Agrigento, was signed by the Prosecutor Dr. Luigi Patronaggio, and by the Deputy Prosecutors Paola Vetro and Chiara Bisso. The victim was killed with three gunshots, fired from close range, which hit him in the right cheek, right shoulder and left temporal region; the latter considered fatal during the autopsy examination. The investigations launched by the Carabinieri of Favara, coordinated by the Company of Agrigento, made it possible to immediately explore the trail of the crime that originated within the family. From the first testimonies collected immediately after the facts by the investigators, as well as from previous disputes between the parties known to the Carabinieri of Favara, a bitter conflict between the victim, his ex-wife and the latter's father clearly emerged. Conflicts arising from economic interests related to the separation between spouses. In particular, the investigative activity focused on the analysis of the images recorded by the various video surveillance systems active near the crime scene. Analysis, which allowed us to reconstruct the salient phases of the crime in a timely manner. The videos viewed documented that LUPO Salvatore's car - a Porsche Macan - heads towards the America Bar in Favara - Via IV Novembre at around 17.43pm - After parking, LUPO Salvatore gets out of the vehicle and heads inside of the venue. After a few minutes you notice the passing of the Fiat Panda car, used by the ex-father-in-law, which parks near the same bar. The driver gets out of the vehicle and heads to the business. A few seconds later the cameras record a general stampede of passers-by and customers who were inside the venue. The commotion was clearly due to the shots fired at LUPO Salvatore. Subsequently, the driver of the Fiat Panda leaves in the vehicle. The investigative context thus reconstructed is also supported by the electronic microscopy investigations carried out by the Carabinieri of the Messina Ris who, tasked with analyzing the samples taken on the suspect and on the Fiat Panda car, detected the presence of numerous characteristic lead particles and unique details of the recent explosion of gunfire. On the basis of these serious and consistent indications of guilt, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Agrigento, sharing the investigative evidence acquired, issued the Arrest Decree of a suspect in a crime against the 66-year-old who was associated with the prison of Agrigento where in the next few days he will be questioned by the Judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Agrigento. The man is accused of murder with the aggravating circumstance of premeditation and futile motives, of illegal possession and possession of common firearms.
