Two Barcelona citizens have been identified and held responsible for the crime of forgery and theft by fraudulent means. The two managers formed and compiled delegations for the collection of union dues on pensions. They defrauded 117 elderly people, 48 of whom suffered the unwitting theft of the aforementioned fees for an average amount of around 250 euros per month.

On Saturday 13th July, Demand of the Republic of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, directed by the Chief Prosecutor Dr. Giuseppe Verzera, issued the notice of conclusion of the preliminary investigations and warranty information against two Barcelona citizens held responsible for the crime of forgery and theft by fraudulent means.
Il provision arises from investigative insights conducted by the Falcone Carabinieri Station, who, through some complaints, they could ensure that the two subjects, after approaching the victim, they formed and filled out delegations for the collection of union dues on pensions to the detriment of 117 elderly people.
The investigation, also conducted through technical assessments carried out by the consultant appointed by the Prosecutor's Office, made it possible to clarify that clearly false signatures had been affixed to the aforementioned proxies. Of the 117 elderly people for whom the said apocryphal proxy had been compiled, 48 suffered the unwitting theft of the aforementioned shares for an average amount of around 250 euros per month.
These methods fall into what is commonly known as "elderly scams"., a growing phenomenon that the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto Prosecutor's Office has been monitoring for some time.
