Emilia-Romagna: The number of people welcomed in civil protection structures or in hotels continues to decline.
Assistance to the population affected by the floods and landslides that hit the area continues'Emilia Romagna. The people welcomed in facilities made available by the Municipalities or in hotels are 816 (57 less than yesterday) of which 73 are minors: 421 in the province of Ravenna, 232 in that of Forlì-Cesena, 162 in the metropolitan city of Bologna and one sole person in charge in the province of Rimini.
There are 726 municipal and provincial roads closed to traffic, of which 316 partially and 410 completely. In the Bologna area, 194 arteries are affected (87 partially and 107 totally); 328 in the Forlì-Cesenate area (119 partially and 209 totally); 165 in the Ravenna area (104 partially and 61 totally); 39 in the Rimini area (6 partially and 33 totally).
The monitoring activity by the teams of surveyors does not stop, which allows us to define the most updated picture of the landslide situation. There are currently 936 major landslides, the number unchanged compared to those detected until yesterday. Overall there are 399 landslides in the province of Forlì-Cesena; 248 in the province of Ravenna; 120 in the province of Bologna; 14 in the province of Reggio Emilia, 143 in that of Rimini and 12 in that of Modena. These are joined by thousands of micro-landslides that dot the entire Apennines affected by the emergency.
Volunteers
There are 1.573 Civil Protection volunteers currently engaged in dealing with the consequences of the emergency: 601 come from national voluntary organisations, 319 from Emilia-Romagna and 653 from the mobile columns of other Regions.
Still present and operational in the Ravenna area are 39 volunteers activated within the European mobilization mechanism (National Civil Protection Department): 25 from Slovakia and 14 from Belgium.
Also considering the 75 units of technical, administrative and local police personnel from the administrations of Bari, Florence, Genoa, Milano, Rome, Venice, Parma, Castelbaldo (PD) and located through the National Association of Italian Municipalities to support flooded municipalities, the operators in the field reach 1687 units.
