Cusano mystery, the son of the missing pensioner arrested

The carabinieri of Milano they accuse Lorenzo D'Errico of the murder of his father Carmine who disappeared from home on 30 December

«We argued and lived separately at home, but if there was a need I was there for him and he for me. I guess I'm under suspicion but I didn't do anything to my father." So a few days ago Lorenzo D'Errico, twenty-six years old from Cusano Milanino, told the journalists who had gone to interview him in via Libertà about the mysterious disappearance of his father Carmine. The 65-year-old pensioner, who had been diagnosed with an incurable disease but who had planned a lunch with friends in the Lodi area for New Year's Eve, disappeared from home on December 30th. The son had said that his father had gone out in the evening saying that he was going to get a pizza. Too bad it turned out that he was in pajamas and slippers. Furthermore, by all accounts, Carmine would never have separated from his parrot and his aquarium. Things that Lorenzo had handed over to an uncle in the days following the alarm, saying that he would never deal with them. Betraying the awareness of what had become of his father. The inconsistencies in his story, the discovery of a weapon in the house and the certainty that the charred corpse of an unknown person found in recent weeks in a former factory in Cerro Maggiore is that of Carmine D'Errico, have led the Monza Prosecutor's Office to request and obtain a detention order on the afternoon of Thursday 3 February. For now, not much else is known and further developments in the matter are awaited. It was Lorenzo himself who raised the alarm about his father's disappearance and filed a missing person report, even complaining that the searches had not been quick.
