The municipal administration's combating activity against the phenomena of abandonment and illicit disposal of waste does not stop. At the end of an intense week of checks by the local police, eleven reports were issued - for a fine of 170 euros each - against private citizens and operators, throughout the territory, for failure to comply with the collection rules. differentiated. Particular attention is paid to the historic center, where following investigations, business owners who abandoned rubbish on the street along via Spasari and via Montecorvino were identified. Violators were fined 600 euros. “The prevention and enforcement activity by the traffic police is recording good results thanks to the help of the photo traps installed in the areas and alleys of the historic center where illicit conduct by citizens and businesses is mostly recorded”, they comment the councilors for the local police, Marinella Giordano, and for the environment, Aldo Casalinuovo. “We do not intend to retreat an inch from a primary objective such as respecting the rules of civil coexistence and the protection of decorum and hygiene. We therefore hope that the use of sanctions will be less and less frequent, representing a valid deterrent to raise awareness in the community of the fundamental importance of preserving the correct functioning of separate waste collection".
