Catania: Drug Depot Discovered in San Cristoforo, Carabinieri Arrest 24-Year-Old Pusher

As part of the improvement of services throughout the Etna capital, also aimed at prevention and repression of drug-related crimes, which are a sure source of income for organised crime, the Carabinieri of the Catania Investigative Unit have dealt another hard blow to the phenomenon of drug trafficking, with arrest for "possession for the purpose of drug dealing", Of a 24 year old pusher from Catania, which in one apartment in the San Cristoforo district, had created a logistics base for the storage of cocaine and marijuana.

In particular, following a complex information-investigative activity, the military discovered that the young man had rented an apartment on the ground floor of Via della Concordia and that he had used as a storage and warehouse for drugs to be sold.

Once the investigative framework was clear and a detailed action plan was planned, the military decided to set up a remote and "discreet mode" observation service, camouflaging themselves among the locals near the apartment in question.

The most propitious moment to intervene came after a few hours of hiding, when the investigators saw the man who was about to return home. The blitz was immediately launched, in fact, the Carabinieri had, in the blink of an eye, reached and blocked and then, together with him, they entered the house.

The man, clearly, showed himself right away worried for the control and, in fact, following the search, the men of the Investigative Unit found, well hidden inside a wardrobe located in the internal courtyard of the house, several yellow-transparent plastic packages containing 100 grams of marijuana – amnesia.

Certain, however, that the discovery was only a small part of what he could actually hold, the Carabinieri have I did some research in depth also the kitchen where they found the next quantity of drugs. In fact, in a cupboard, the officers recovered several blue cellophane bags, containing a total of 125 grams of cocaine while, in a cupboard, they also found €2.800 in cash, sure proceeds of the illicit activity.

Equally important from an investigative point of view, the finding of a notepad, reporting names and amounts relating to the flourishing “wholesale” drug dealing activity carried out by the pusher.

All the drugs, money and other items found were seized. the pusher, on the other hand, was arrested and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which validated the provision and ordered the precautionary measure of the arrest.
