Casalbuttano: the Carabinieri of the local station have arrested a man who must serve five final sentences for various crimes.

On the afternoon of February 2nd the Carabinieri of the Casalbuttano station they arrested, in execution of a detention order issued by the Criminal Enforcement Office of the Bergamo Prosecutor's Office, a 29-year-old man with a police record against him.

The man receiving the measure will have to serve a cumulative sentence of four years and two months in prison and almost two months of arrest, relating to five convictions that occurred between 2018 and 2021 at the Courts of Cremona, Lecco and Bergamo, which became definitive and recently executive, for multiple violations of the ban on returning to the municipality of Crema, multiple aggravated thefts, interruption of public service, contempt and resistance to a public official and personal injury, crimes committed between 2015 and 2017.

The man was reported in April 2015 for a deftly stealing a wallet stolen from a woman's purse on a train of the Treviglio-Cremona section, while in June 2015 it had been reported for interruption of public service, contempt and resistance to a public official and personal injury, for an incident that occurred in Treviglio (BG). That day, a train conductor, during the train stop in Treviglio, noticed two young people, including the 29-year-old, fighting on board the train.

He asked both of them for the ticket, but they started insulting her and threatening her with death and walking around the cars saying they didn't have it and wouldn't pay. As the train departed, the man also pulled the emergency brake. Some travelers asked the man to get off the train and not create further problems, but the 29-year-old punched a man who had intervened to defend the conductor, causing him injuries.

He was then removed from the train with the help of other people, while the injured man was treated by medical personnel from Treviglio. The train could not restart because the driver had failed to restore the emergency braking device which had been used improperly.

In 2016 and 2017 he was reported twice by the police patrols of Crema because he was caught in Crema despite having a ban on returning to that municipality. Instead, in March 2017, in the province of Lecco, he was reported for another aggravated theft committed on board a train.

Various sentences had occurred over time: in 2019, almost two months of arrest by the Court of Cremona for the two violations of the ban on returning to Crema, in 2020, two years of imprisonment by the Court of Cremona for the aggravated theft on the train which occurred in 2015, in 2021 to one year and four months of imprisonment by the Court of Lecco for the aggravated theft on the train and in 2023 to ten months of imprisonment by the Court of Bergamo and the Court of Appeal of Brescia for contempt and resistance to a public official, personal injury and interruption of public service.

Taking into account that the last sentence which became final was from the Court of Bergamo, the latter, based on its jurisdiction, calculated the overall sentence to be served. For these reasons, the final provision was sent to the Carabinieri of Casalbuttano, responsible for the 29-year-old's place of residence, who tracked him down at his home and arrested him, accompanying him to the Cà del Ferro prison.
